A family of barn owls has taken over an empty hamerkop nest in one of the big oaks in the garden.

Respect for all life, human and animal, is fundamental to the farm. We have a principle of zero tolerance of violence and do not keep animals for slaughter.

The farm is home to a gentle German shepherd (Ziggy), a young and bounce German shepherd called Ellie and three cats, These are Fitz , Bounce and Suzie Cream cheese.

In the werf are three Cameroon goats, chickens  to provide us with eggs, Mollie a very fat duck and a tame Chinese goose called Mr Ching.

Further afield in the wild land of the farm are many of wild animals including buck, baboon, lizard, mongoose, tortoise, porcupine and suricate. From the house one can often see black eagle above the mountain, and among the garden’s many birds are owls, hamerkops, hoopoos, blue cranes, weavers and  sunbirds.

Fynbos Estate is pet friendly and is happy to host guests with their dogs if they are well behaved

Mabel, Myrtle and Millicent, our three Cameroon goats, are nosey, naughty and very comical.
