The Ceremony

 Fynbos Estate offers a variety of outdoor and indoor possibilities for all kinds of ceremonies. For those wishing to marry outdoors, the lawns and gardens surrounding the farmhouse offer many tranquil and beautiful locations. If you are after a taste of adventure and your numbers are small, the "magic or sacred" forest is a part ride and twenty minute hike from the house, and the very top of the mountain offers spectacular views from Table Mountain all the way to the Drakenstein range. For those wanting to marry indoors, The Chapel, a renovated wine cellar circa 1850, can accommodate up to 80 guests and provide a magical ceremony with an old world rural atmosphere. For small less formal ceremonies you may also choose to marry in the Victorian farmhouse with its large oregon windows and raku fire place.  Or you may decide on the farmhouse veranda which can accommodate up to 40 guests.

The Reception

For a truly magical reception, The Pavilion accommodates 80 under cover and many more in good weather. The Pavilion opens up allowing guests to spill out into the courtyard and patios on both sides leaving its wooden floors free for dancing. Seating can be fashioned into either banquet style or individual round tables.  It can be hired on its own or fully catered and is available at any time of the day or night. On a clear night The Pavilion lies beneath a beautiful starry dome and at certain times of the year the unforgettable Milky Way majestically fills the whole night sky.  Go to the pavilion for more pictures of this venue

Johan is a chef with a fine reputation for delicious country food and he will take great care in creating a menu of all your favourites, from Indian to French. Johan believes that wonderful food is central to making any event a success.   Wherever possible he uses produce from the large Fynbos vegetable garden. Alongside his passion for creating culinary masterpieces with wholesome ingredients, is his passion for making superlative wines, marketed under the Dagonridge label.

All is inclusive

Weddings on the farm encompass all events and all locations under only one venue cost. This includes either the farmhouse or the cottage for dressing before the event and the whole farm and nature reserve is available for stunning photographs.

The weekend wedding

Becoming more and more popular, the weekend wedding allows guests to enjoy the celebrations in a leisurely way. And nowhere could be more perfect for a weekend of fun and leisure than Fynbos Estate. The Farmhouse and Fynbos House offer comfortable accommodation to up to 25 guests sharing, and there is additional camping space for summer weddings. There is plenty to do from walking in the vineyards to wine tasting to exploring the nature reserve. And for little ones, our child friendly farm is a delight. The weekend can be self catered, partly catered or fully catered.
